Restores lost volume, corrects wrinkles and improves facial hydration.

Hyaluronic acid treatment is a procedure that reposition areas of the face that have lost their volume, correct wrinkles, hydrate the skin and improve facial structure. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body, and has the ability to retain large amounts of water, which helps keep the skin hydrated.

Frequently asked questions on the treatment of hyaluronic acid

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule found in the skin, joints and other tissues, and has the ability to retain large amounts of water, which helps maintain hydration and elasticity. In aesthetic medicine, it is used as a dermal filler to smooth wrinkles, add volume and improve the appearance of the skin.

Is the procedure painful?

In many cases, the product already contains local anesthetic, but an anesthetic cream can also be applied prior to the procedure to minimize any discomfort.

How long does the treatment last?

The duration of a treatment with injected hyaluronic acid is usually from 6 to 18 months, depending on factors such as the area treated, the concentration of the product, the type of skin and the patient’s metabolism. In areas with greater mobility, such as the lips, the effect tends to last less time, while in areas with less movement, such as the cheekbones, it may last longer.

How long does it take to see the results?

The effect of injected hyaluronic acid is practically immediate, since an increase in volume and improvement in the appearance of the skin is observed immediately after application. However, the final result can be seen 1 to 2 weeks later, once the initial swelling subsides and the product settles completely in the tissue.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are generally mild and temporary, and include swelling, redness or bruising at the injection site, which disappear within a few days.

Do I have to rest?

It is not necessary to rest absolutely, but it is recommended to avoid certain activities to obtain better results. It is advisable not to touch or massage the treated area for the first 24 hours, to avoid exposure to intense heat (such as saunas or intense exercise) for one or two days and not to take alcohol or anticoagulants, which could increase the risk of bruising or swelling. These precautions help reduce side effects and allow the product to settle properly.

Can I exercise?

It is recommended to avoid intense exercise for the first 24 to 48 hours after hyaluronic acid injection.

From what age can I do it?

The use of injected hyaluronic acid is generally recommended from the age of 18 in younger people and then to prevent the first signs of aging, such as loss of volume and the appearance of fine lines. In younger people, it can be used in specific cases to improve facial contours or correct asymmetries,
